Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton continued her non-stop excuses tour Monday night, telling a packed crowd that “sexism” and “misogyny” ultimately cost her the 2016 race for the White House.
Here We Go Again : Hillary Blames “SEXIST” And “Frightened” Trump Voters For 2016 Defeat
The former Secretary of State was speaking at a Human Rights event in the nation’s capital when she lashed out at Trump supporters for “going backwards,” saying GOP voters were “frightened” and “feeling insecure” about the future of the country.
“I see [the election] as a reaction that is driven by lots of different motives, some of them having to do with people feeling insecure, frightened, disappointed, discouraged […] about their lives and the ongoing globalization of the economy”.
“Any of you who’ve read my book about what happened know that I think misogyny and sexism was part of that campaign, it was one of the contributing factors,” said Clinton.
“Some of it was old-fashioned sexism and a refusal to accept the equality of women and certainly the equality of women’s leadership – and some of it as an outgrowth of all of this anxiety and insecurity that is playing on people and leading them in a hunt for scapegoats,” she said.
